THERAPEUTIC CHAIR YOGA (6 week series)
Begins Monday, September 13th, 11am - 12:15pm - $65.00. Designed to improve flexibility and range of motion through gentle movement, help to maintain/regain joint mobility, relieve joint pain and stiffness, improve circulation, and balance the body’s energy flow. This class will help to ease the pain associated with fibromyalgia and arthritis, aid in healing injury and illness, accomodate physical limitations, and calm the mind. All levels are welcome. YIN YOGA/MEDITATION
Next Class: Monday, September 27, 2010, at 7:00pm. Yin Yoga is a style of yoga which focuses on the passive holding of postures for longer periods (approximately 3 to 5 minutes) for the benefit of releasing the connective tissues (ligaments, bones, and even joints) of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. $15.00 (or class card)
INTRODUCTION TO ASHTANGA YOGA
Friday, September 24th 6:00pm - 7:30pm - $15.00. Ashtanga Yoga is a vigourous and powerfully transforming yoga practice that was first taugh by K. Pattabi Jois. During the practice, the body moves through a fixed series of postures. Combining breath with movement produces a deep internal heat, which cleanes the energy channels of the body and creates increased clarity, concentration and relaxation in the mind, while developing strength and flexibility in the body. During this workshop, we will explore the Ashtanga primary series. Come discover this extraordinary type of yoga, from which all other forms of power yoga originated. Be prepared to sweat and the have fun! For intermediate and advanced students. Registration is required.
